Former Idaho county manager charged with theft
8/17/2012
A former manager for Boise County has been charged with felony grand theft after prosecutors say he stole more than $64,000 from the county. Gordon Ravenscroft was the county's emergency manager until he was fired by county commissioners last year. Boise TV station KTVB reports prosecutors recently charged him with five felony theft counts, because they say he double-billed the county for his services by collecting his own salary and by creating a ghost company called MCL Consulting, which the county also paid. Ravenscroft, meanwhile, has filed a federal lawsuit against the county, contending county officials were aware he was the operator of MCL, and the county owes him wages that it promised to pay him but never did. He's also filed a wrongful termination lawsuit in state court.
