Deputy Twin Falls coroner accused of theft
Prosecutors are accusing a deputy coroner in Twin Falls County of stealing more than $100,000 from Medicaid and lying about transporting patients to get medical care. Thirty-nine-year-old Shaiyenne Anton was arraigned on a series of crimes Wednesday. The Times-News reports Anton has been charged with grand theft, two counts of forgery, computer crime, obstructing an investigation and making a false claim for public assistance. State investigators say Anton billed nearly $106,000 in mileage reimbursement for a decade, and lied about taking Medicaid patients to and from doctor's appointments. Court records accuse of making false claims that she provided services for 20 Medicaid patients. County Coroner Dennis Chambers told the newspaper on Thursday that Anton was still employed as senior deputy.
